It means using the good china on a Tuesday and keeping cashmere within reach, choosing things you love and then living with them. It means a house you don’t tiptoe through, where age and patina are as welcome as something new.

I’ve built a whole career around home
I’ve reimagined homes from a historic 1880s farmhouse to mid-century moderns and California bungalows, working across kitchens, baths, interiors, and exteriors. Behind every one of them are the hundreds of houses I’ve studied over the years, their architecture and their bones, the way one room opens into the next, the way a house feels from the inside out.
The magic is in the details, and I pay attention to every one of them: the patina on an old brass pull and the sheen of fresh lacquer, the way afternoon light moves across a room, the warmth of a heated floor on a winter morning, the textiles you reach for without thinking. Every choice is there to make a home you want to linger in, where people gather and stay long after dinner, where beauty is something you live inside rather than admire from the doorway.
